Introduction to Tandem Lake Canoe Instructor Program

This course provides national certification in the instruction and administration of the Paddle Canada Introduction to Tandem Lake Canoe program.

This course is designed for individuals wanting to become professional tandem canoe instructors and join a national standard of instructors across Canada. This 5-day Introduction to Tandem Lake Canoe Instructor program provides an opportunity to test the knowledge and skills necessary in becoming an Introduction to Tandem Lake Canoe Instructor for Paddle Canada.

The course demands your full attention and commitment. You will review your tandem and solo canoe handling skills and knowledge about weather and navigation. The course is an ongoing assessment with a focus on the art of teaching both on land and on the water.

Skill Level

Prerequisites

  • Paddle Canada Intermediate Lake Tandem Canoe Skills or equivalent experience as assessed by the Instructor Trainer
  • First Aid (16 hours minimum) and CPR Level C
  • 16 years of age

Booking and Payment Notes

A deposit of $300 is required at the time of registration in order to secure your spot. The balance of your payment is due at least 30 days before the start of the program. Payment can be made by Interact E-Transfer, cheque, money order, or cash. You can also pay the full amount with a credit card using the online registration system on our website.

Other Notes

There is an additional fee of $90 (plus tax) for your Paddle Canada Instructor membership.
